Abstract

On the 22 July 2008, elements of the forestry and wildlife control post of Mintom organized a control check. During this control, the accused persons NSAH MEBA & AMVAME Brice Macaire were arrested in possession of 12 pieces of gorilla meat, 4 dog legs, and 4 monkeys. It was placed in a large travel bag and transported using a motorbike from Mintom to the destination, Djoum. The products seized were immediately sold through public auction, the proceeds of the sale were sent to the national treasury and a copy of the receipt of payment attached to the case file. During interrogation, the accused persons acknowledged committing the offences as charged and pleaded guilty. At the close of interrogations, they were transmitted before the State Attorney for prosecution.
