Abstract

On May 30 2014, Ecogardes of the conservation service of Dja effected an anti-poaching patrol and found the accused, Obam Obam Marcelin in a forest located in NKOLADENFACK, South Region. He was cooking and after a systematic search was carried out, a hunting gun and ammunitions and some elephant meat were found. An unsigned group letter threatening administrative authorities was also found in his possession. The accused claimed he was invited to the scene by other unidentified hunters and the meat was a token given to him by some mere passersby. He was arrested and forwarded before the court for prosecution.
