Abstract

Following an order of the Divisional Officer to search houses for security control checks in the localities of Ngolla 35, MEMPOE and their surrounding areas, a mixed team of law enforcement officers were deployed to carry out this mission. During this search and upon denunciation, the accused persons OUSMANE Serges, DANGA Clement, and NTHIA Appolinaire were arrested and taken to the gendarmerie station of Mboy I. The accused OUSMANE Serges, a Central African residing in Cameroon without a residence permit was arrested behind the Catholic church where a bag containing ammunitions was also found and narcotic drugs (Tramol and Indian hemp). The other two accused DANGA Clement and NTHIA Appolinaire were arrested on the suspected grounds of participating in illegal hunting activities and failure to possess National Identity Card. During interrogations, DANGA Clement said that OUSMANE Serges gave him five ammunitions to carry out a hunting party. So he went to this hunting party with NTHIA Appolinaire. He killed two hares while NTHIA killed three. OUSMANE Serges denied committing the offence as charged and pleaded not guilty, while the other two accused admitted committing the offence as charged and pleaded guilty. At the close of interrogations, they were transmitted before the State Attorney for prosecution.
