Abstract

Zhiyong H. and Mei S. were ordered to deliver monitor lizards smuggled from Vietnam from Dongxing City to Fangcheng District. On the morning of May 18, 2015, Zhiyong H. instructed Zheng to rent a Toyota car and took him and Sun Mei to XX Road XX Lane in Dongxing City to meet Guoguang L. When the four people transported the monitor lizards to the car, they were investigated by Fangcheng Customs Anti-Private Police. Zhiyong H. was arrested on the spot and 64 monitor lizards were seized (including 2 dead bodies). On the 20th of the same month, Mei S. took the initiative to surrender to the investigative agency. On June 25 of the same year, Guoguang L. was arrested by police at his Dongxing residence. Zhiyong H., Mei S., Guoguang L. confessed to having smuggled endangered wildlife species.
