The Accused were arrested at Royal Circuit Truck and Queens mile in Kasese District in the Queen Elizabeth National Park wildlife protected area without permission.
The Accused was arrested in Arua District and taken to Arua CPS. The Accused was found to be in possession of specimen belonging to animals categorized as protected species contrary to the laws of the country. The Accused was charged and prosecuted at the Chief Magistrate Court of Kampala at Buganda Road.
In April 2016, the conservation and biodiversity department of the Nouabélé-Ndoki Park, in its routine missions, got hold of Mbamba Valère, who was returning from a hunt with a leopard skin in his possession. While he was looking for a client to sell the skin, he was apprehended by the eco-guards.
On the 29 March 2007, the accused persons NEMBOT KAMDEM Thomas, KAMDEM Barnabe and TELLA Jean Pierre were arrested flagrante delicto by forces of law and order in possession of three (03) Leopard skins. During interrogation, they all pleaded not guilty and denied having captured or killed leopards.
On the 23 August 2007, the accused YOUMBISSI Michael was arrested flagrante delicto at Express Union, Bandjoun in possession of a bag containing 01 leopard skin.
The accused persons VOS Christopher and CHINGO Zachari were prosecuted before Court of First Instance, Djoum, for complicity, illegal detention of trophies of protected animal species and firearm. On the 22 November 2011, the court passed judgement.
On the 26 August 2006, the accused TCHATCHET Nicole was arrested flagrante delicto in the Bafoussam market in possession of two (02) leopard skins without any legal justification ( certificate of origin). During interrogation as well as before the State Attorney, she pleaded guilty and acknowledged committing the offence as reproached.
On the 23 September 2013, the accused ZETOUBA Ange was arrested flagrante delicto at UFA N°10015 by ecoguards of the Boumba Bek National park. During interrogations and prosecution, the the accused pleaded not guilty and rebutted the facts. That the ecogardes arrested him while he was sleeping in his hut.
The two accused were arrested and charged of illegal entry into a wildlife conservation area contrary to section 30 and 70 (a) UWA 2019, Unlawful Possession of devices capable of causing injury to wildlife species contrary to sections 77, 74 (a) and Utilisation of wildlife without a wildlife use right contrary to section 36 (1) and 70 (a) UWA
The Accused was found in a wildlife protected area without permission and was in possession of Wildlife protected species and devices capable of killing, injuring and capturing wildlife protected species contrary to the laws of the country. The Accused was charged and prosecuted at the Chief Magistrate Court of Nwoya at Amuru.
