Zhao confessed to having illegally purchased rare and endangered wild animals.
In November 2010, Xianjin G. purchased a black bear under second class state protection from Lu and Hu at a price of 4,400 yuan. Later, Xianjin G. sold the black bear to Li and Song. On January 22, 2013, Xianjin G. purchased a wild goat from Pan at a price of 800 yuan. The wild goat was found and seized from Xianjin G.'s house.
Since 2015, Shuwen Z. had used his illegally held guns and other tools to illegally hunt 5 pheasants, 3 impalas, 1 iguana and tufted deer in Baoxing County. On March 27, 2017, Shuwen Z. and Hai Z.
In February 2017, Fang Yuquan used a gun to kill a wild boar in the Baiyang Nature Reserve in Songpan County. In March, Fang Yuquan was invited to bring a gunpowder gun and Ren Tingchun and Zhao Yichong brought 9 hunting dogs to hunt down the wild animal "Rock Sheep". Afterwards, the three men "rock sheep" 5 more.
