In September 2015, the Sub-divisional officer of Salapoumbe arrested the accused, Sammisio Julien at Carrefour SE, Salapoumbe located in the East Region following information received by the said officer about his activities with a renowned poacher called Souka to whom the accused had given some money to carry out poaching activities. He was charged with complicity in poaching and an offence report was established on this fact and was transmitted before the court for prosecution.
