On the 17 August 2013, elements of the conservation service in collaboration with the World Wide Fund of Nature arrested the accused Madi Boulama during an anti-poaching patrol. He was arrested in the quarter called Quartier Newton, in possession of two (2) ivory tusks cut in four pieces, placed in his car. He admitted ownership of the seized ivories and accepted responsibility. After his offence report was established, he was forwarded together with the seized trophies as exhibits before the state attorney of the court of First Instance Yokadouma for prosecution.
