Abstract

Ifounde Kobo Rodric is living at Ignolo village. One day he met with one known as Jean Louis a Congolese from DRC who just settled in the same village. In May 2015, both partnered for big hunting with Jean Louis been the hunter and Ifounde Kobo Rodric the carrier. They left the village at 1:00am and after 2 kms Jean Louis killed an elephant with a PMAK weapon. They removed the tusks and abandoned the meat in the forest. During a patrol, rangers discovered the meat and interrogated the chief of Ignolo village who denounced Ifounde Kobo Rodric. The latter was brought before the state prosecutor and charged of complicity of killing a totally protected animal.

Ifounde Kobo Rodric was sentenced to thirty six months imprisonment, XAF 100,000 (one hundred thousand) as fines each, and to pay XAF 1,000,000 (one million) as damages and court fees. The Imprisonment in default of payment was fixed to its minimum.
