The above-mentioned ivory products were seized by the public security organs. After appraisal, the ivory products involved weighed 16.753 kg, valued at RMB 698047.25. In early November 2017, Jinming L. contacted Chen 2 through WeChat and purchased ivory products from him at a price of RMB 26,000. After appraisal, the ivory products involved in the case weighed 4.42 kilograms and were worth RMB 184,168.14. After identification, the ivory products involved were all from Asian elephants or African elephants. Asian elephants were under first class state protection, and African elephants were approved under first class state protection. Jinming L. confessed to having illegally purchased rare and endangered wild animals’ manufactured products.
