On the 28th day of April 2021 at 2200 hrs, at Kazinga channel in the area called Nyakatanda within the conservation area. The three accused persons were found to have illegally entered the said area. They were arrested and taken to Kasese CPS and charged accordingly.
On the 23rd day of August 2021 at Kanumba within Queen Elizabeth Conservation Area the accused were found by UWA having illegally entered and cultivated yam, cassava and opium. They were also found in possession of 6 wire snares and 5 pangas.
The accused person were arrested with seven hippopotamus teeth amounting to 12kgs. They were taken to Kasese CPS and charged.
That on the 21st day of June 2019 while on patrol, the rangers met the accused person inside Queen Elizabeth National Park along the boundary laying wire snares in Muhokya. That he was about 50m from the pole demarcating the boundary. He was arrested and charged with the two counts.
Accused persons was charged for illegal entry into a wildlife protected area and convicted on his own plea of guilty.
