In September 2019, following an information related to ivory trafficking judicial police agents of Mouila arrested Motombi Ngoubou Mari Laure. During her interrogation, she declared that she was commissioned by Silla Demba to collect a parcel and deliver to someone at ”Beaux garçons” junction. At that place, she met with a trader who brought her to an unknown person and then to a hotel room where they were surprised by agents who opened the parcel and found ivory. Motombi further declared that the parcel belonged to Silla who on his turn declared that he received the parcel weighing from 8 to 10 kg from Seraphin Modjo to sell one kg at XAF 100,000. Silla was later on contacted by Habdoul interested to buy the ivory. He then decided to send the parcel to a friend trader to give to Habdoul and commissioned Motombi who ignored the content of the parcel.
