Abstract

Elements of the conservation service of the western antenna of the Dja biosphere reserve received reliable information about some ongoing illegal trafficking activity in that zone. Following this information, the elements went to the ANDO'O EBAE area in Meyomessala where the accused, AKO'O BITOUNOU was arrested. He was found in possession of two young orphaned monkeys, one De Brazza’s monkey and a Moustac monkey, all totally protected class A animal species. The animals were seized and the accused person was taken to their office for interrogation. He pleaded guilty as charged and acknowledged committing the offences. At the close of interrogations, he was transmitted before the State Attorney for prosecution.
