Abstract

On January 17 2015, the head of the South Antenna of the Dja Biosphere reserve received reliable information on trafficking of trophies of totally protected species in the town of Djoum, South Region at an inn called “auberge Jeannete”. A team was set up which descended to the said location and arrested the accused, EKOUMOU Joseph and a certain ELANG Francoise flagrante delicto with 4 Gorilla and 1 Chimpanzee skulls. An offence report was established and together with the trophies was forwarded before the State attorney.
