Following preliminary investigations by the State Attorney of the Court of First Instance, Djoum the accused NNANGA Nsolo Simon was summoned to respond to charges of illegal killing of an elephant. That on September 21, 1988 in Mintom he was arrested for illegal killing an elephant with a firearm, without a hunting permit. The court of First Instance Djoum took into consideration the facts of the case on the use of firearm which falls before the jurisdiction of the military court. It consequently terminated the proceedings and transmitted the case file before the South Military court for hearing.
