Abstract

On the 14 June 1993, the accused NOUBETEH Samuel was summoned to appear before the Court of First Instance Djoum to respond to charges of illegal killing of protected animal species. That on the 29 October 1996 in Mintom II he was arrested by forces of law and order during a routine control in possession of five (05) legs of smoked bush meat without a certificate of origin. During the hearing, he failed to appear before the court despite being summoned severally. The court however found sufficient evidence to establish his culpability. At the end of the proceedings, the matter was adjourned for judgement.
