As per judgement in default no. 065/COR of 27th December 1988 of the Court of First Instance Djoum, the accused OHANDJA LEBONGO was found guilty of poaching. He was sentenced to pay 500.000 XAF for fines and costs. He rightly contested the judgement in default which was admitted by the Court. During proceedings, the accused brought new elements to support his arguements which were strong enough to set aside the previous judgement. The court reviewed the facts and evidence presented and found that there was insufficient evidence to prove the accused illegally killed protected animal species. At the end of the proceedings, the matter was adjourned for judgement.
