The chief of Wildlife of the Upper Nyong divisional delegation of Forestry and Wildlife organized a control mission in that zone. This led to the arrest of the accused persons HABOULAZIZE NZIME and NGAO Jean Pierre in Hotel Raphia in the town of Lomie, flagrante delicto in illegal detention and commercialization of wildlife products.

The accused Ndoum Willy acquired an AK47 war gun and ammunitions from a certain Mboko Alfred with the intention of poaching elephants. In order to do this, he requested help from the co-offender Namoudou Jean Pierre with whom they killed an Elephant in the reserve of Faro-Lobeke and proceeded to sell the ivories.

On the 19 September 2013, the accused NFORMI Alfred FAI was arrested in Edea by elements of the conservation service of the Divisional Delegation of the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife. He was found in possession of two elephant jawbones. During interrogations, he denied committing the offence and pleaded not guilty.

Agents of the Edea territorial brigade stopped a public transport bus belonging to transport agency labelled ”Garanti voyages” for the usual road control checks. During the checks, a bag containing the elephant ivories hidden in clothes which was placed on top of the bus fell down and the clothes fell out.

Military elements of the 15 Batallion of the Motorized Infantry Brigade in charge of protecting the Cynegetic hunting zone N°29, arrested the accused persons WOENDA Ferdinand and BILAN Eric along the Mboy-II Libongo highway.

The Last Great Ape Organization LAGA -Cameroon ( an NGO specialized in Wildlife Law Enforcement) conveyed reliable information on some illegal trafficking activities in the town of Sangmelima to the Divisional Delegate of Forestry and Wildlife of Dja and Lobo.

The two accused persons ANGO ANGO Jean Claude and ENDELE NNANGA Leonce Fernand were summoned before the court of First Instance, Djoum on separate proceedings to answer for charges against them respectively.

The accused persons ANKEU TANGO Jean Paul and LANG LEGO Stephane were arrested flagrante delicto in Yokadouma. ANKEU TANGO Jean Paul was caught red handed immediately after killing an elephant with the use of a firearm without any legal authorization. The co-offender LANG LEGO Stephane who detained the elephant ivories was also arrested.

The acccused persons BELINGA Parfait Periche and NYATTE MINLO Serges Constant were prosecuted before the Court of First Instance, Sangmelima for illegal of killing of 12 elephants, totally protected animal species and complicity. On September 11, 2012 judgement was passed.

The accused persons AFOUMOU EMILE and MOUKO CLEMENT were arrested flagrante delicto in possession of 02 Processed elephant ivories, 01 Processed ivory piece, 03 carved ebony art objects, scraps of ivory from the processed elephant tusks and 02 broken art objects.
