It was alleged that the accused persons on 15/2/2009 at Leken area, Selela village, Monduli District in Arusha region were found in unlawful possession of fresh wildebeest meat. The accused denied the charges. The accused persons were found guilty and were therefore convicted.
On April 27, 2015, police officers seized ivory products (total value of RMB 21,667) and 1 piece of rhino horn products (valued at RMB 9,500) in the store jointly operated by the defendants Bingjie L. and Qi F.). From 2007 to 2008, Bingjie L.purchased a hawksbill turtle and a turtle from the market in the Huimin District and kept them at home.
Bayixi lived in the Quede Village, Dongcuo Township, Gaize County, where there were multiple snow leopard infringements on herders livestock. On May 4, 2018, several sheep near the Bayixi residence were bitten by the snow leopard.
In mid-November 2015, Gamacida and Pingcuonanjia lived in temporary shelters for grazing. During the period, due to multiple incidents of missing and bitten sheep, Gamacida proposed to Pingcuonanjia to place iron clips for hunting wildlife to prevent them from infringing on the flock.
In February 2018, Heng Z. purchased a snow leopard skin from Han through WeChat and sold it to Yu. Then he asked Han to deliver the snow leopard skin to Xu by courier at the address provided by Yu. After the appraisal, the snow leopard skin involved was worth 400,000 yuan.
On the material date, at 22.00 hrs at Tingirima village within Bunda District in Mara Region, the accused was found in the possession of skins of dik-dik, two pieces of dried meat of the wildebeest and a piece of elephant tusk, after an emergence search in his house, a house owned by his mother and elder brother while he was sleeping.
The appellants in the court below were found to be in possession of game animal, alternatively government trophy, namely wildebeest skin, without being licenced or authorised to possess same.
In mid-to-late July 2015, Suonanouzhu and his family grazed and lived in the temporary shelter of the grazing site in the summer pasture area. Due to multiple incidents of missing and bitten sheep, Suonanouzhu borrowed an iron clip and placed it near the temporary residence.
