It was alleged that the accused persons on 15/2/2009 at Leken area, Selela village, Monduli District in Arusha region were found in unlawful possession of fresh wildebeest meat. The accused denied the charges. The accused persons were found guilty and were therefore convicted.
During 2010, Xinlin Y. obtained goshawks, otters and other endangered wild animals from a Lao man named "Amou" at the Mengkang port in Jiangcheng County, and then he made them into animal specimens. Xinlin Y. placed the specimens in the store he operated, and affixed a price tag of 2900 yuan to the base of one grass owl specimen.
Without the approval of the forestry department, Xu Hanzhou purchased wild animals from the towns and villages in the surrounding counties and districts and raised them at his residence in No. 21, Dazhong Alley, Babu District, Hezhou City. He then took the purchased wild animals to Hezhou City for profit. At 7 a.m.
On the second half of 2016, Qiang P. installed iron clips, "Tiantian" and other traps in the "Jinshanli" mountain field at the junction of Ganfang Village and Shangcun Village, Ganfang Town, Fengxin County for hunting wild animals.
From January 2015 to April 2017, the defendant Yingwai B. found the defendant Peng B., and asked him for help in manufacturing firearms. Yingwai B. bought raw materials, and made the wooden gun handle, buttstock, and back bolt. After completing the above procedures, Peng B.
During the period from November 2016 to January 2018, Zhou illegally purchased, processed, and sold wild animals such as pheasants in his leased store without obtaining a wildlife management license and an industrial and commercial business license.
On the afternoon of November 12, 2017, Longqing L. discovered one silver chicken while collecting herbs, and then hunted and took it home. The next day, he found three civets on the mountain and hunted them. Later, Longqing L. reached a deal with Xiaping W. by phone. At 17:00 on November 13, Longqing L.
On the material date, at 22.00 hrs at Tingirima village within Bunda District in Mara Region, the accused was found in the possession of skins of dik-dik, two pieces of dried meat of the wildebeest and a piece of elephant tusk, after an emergence search in his house, a house owned by his mother and elder brother while he was sleeping.
The appellants in the court below were found to be in possession of game animal, alternatively government trophy, namely wildebeest skin, without being licenced or authorised to possess same.
