On December 08 2015, YANDA Emmanuel was arrested in Doume in the East region in possession of an elephant tail, two gorilla skulls, a chimpanzee skull and the skin of a non identified animal without a certificate of origin.
On the 29 September 2016, following a mission led by the chief of the wildlife service and protected areas of the Littoral region, Abdoul Karim Ibrahim was arrested at ”Marché des fleurs” in Douala in illegal possession of 160 carved ivory objects. When arrested, he fiercely opposed the arrest teams.
Elements of the conservation service, Yokadouma arrested the accused persons ANKEU TANGO Jean Paul and LANG LEGO Stephane who had just killed an elephant with the use of an unauthorized arm. The ivories were found with Lang Lego Stephane.
On the 10 November 2018 around 2 a.m., two boats fell in an ambush near the Bonaberi Bridge in Douala. When the marine brigade was searching in, another canoe was seen carrying on board eleven suspicious bags and having no passenger but only the boatman. the excavation of said bags uncovered 219 ivory tusks for a total weight of 472.7 kg.
In November 2017 at "Bois de Singes" neighbourhood in Douala, a truck carrying suspicious bags and driven by UPAH Macmillan on the request of ADAMU Ibrahim, was arrested by elements of the Regional Control Brigade.
Elements of the conservation service of the Boumba Bek National park and the Forestry and Wildlife control post of Salapoumbe were informed about the killing of an elephant in the park. Further investigation led to the arrest of the accused persons, KOLONGO Rene, LIBAYA Francis and NGANDJIBOLO Nestor.
On the 07 August 2018 in the locality of Zoulabot Ancien, eco-guards arrested the accused for hunting in a protected area. During this hunt, a young elephant was killed by MADJONGO Jean who escaped and was under chase, and the ivories taken by the chief of the Zoulabot Ancien locality.
The Chief of the Forestry and Wildlife control post of Lomie received reliable information on the illegal circulation of ivory trafficking in the town. Based on this, he dispatched this information to his collegues in the neighbouring localities of Mitoum, Payo and Nomedjoh in an effort to arrest the whole trafficking network.
The chief of Wildlife of the Upper Nyong divisional delegation of Forestry and Wildlife organized a control mission in that zone. This led to the arrest of the accused persons HABOULAZIZE NZIME and NGAO Jean Pierre in Hotel Raphia in the town of Lomie, flagrante delicto in illegal detention and commercialization of wildlife products.
