The appellants were represented in the Subordinate Court by an attorney, and according to the record, upon the charge being put to them they and their co-accused all pleaded guilty.

The court held that if it is established that the appellant hunted and killed the animals in the game reserve, the burden shifts to the appellant to establish that he did not know that he was in the game reserve. The appellant thus has to establish on a balance of probabilities that he killed the animals on another piece of land.

On the 23 September 2009, elements of the conservation service of Dja arrested the accused flagrante delicto in illegal possession of 04 Colubus Guereza, 01 Bay duiker, 01 tortoise, 04 grey-cheeked Mangabey, 01 Moustached guenon, 01 Brushtailed pangolin, 02 Blue Duiker and blue duiker meat.

On 18 October 2015, during a routine operation, Mokabi Dzanga's surveillance and anti-poaching unit arrested Bamouke Bamokea Antoine in the middle of the forest, in possession of metal cables and a colobus body, which he tried to dismember.
