The accused, ABDOUR RAHMANOU was arrested by elements of the Regional delegation of Forestry and Wildlife. He was found flagrante delicto in possession of 75 African Grey Parrots without a certificate of origin. During interrogation and before the court, he pleaded guilty and recognized committing the offence as charged.
The accused persons ABENEME Francois and NKOBO Marcel were arrested flagrante delicto in the locality of BOLO by elements of the Yokadouma Wildlife Administration on an anti-poaching patrol mission around the outskirts of the Lobeke National Park.
EBAM Francis used to capture parrots together with two Cameroonians named Jean KOUA and DZANA Celestin. In March 2020, DZANA gave EBAM Francis the sum of XAF 80,000 and nets for the capture of parrots. And it was during the capture with 2 (two) bait parrots that EBAM Francis was arrested.
