The accused pleaded guilty and were convicted for unlawfully hunting 2 rhino’s and being in possession of rhino horns. The court below considered the seriousness of the crime and the number of rhino’s killed per year and the impact that poaching has on the economy and imposed a sentence of 6 years imprisonment and a N$60 000.00 fine.

The appellant was caught dealing illegally in ivory and charged with contravening section 2(1)(a) of the AG Proclamation 42 of 1980 – the controlled Games Products Proclamation. As a result, he was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment and 18 months of the sentence was suspended.

The accused were charged with the unlawful exportation of controlled wildlife products:14 rhino horns on the first count and a leopard skin on the second count, as well as money laundering on count 3.

Accused persons were found guilty of unlawful possession of 2 horns in contravention of the Game Act. The Act prescribes that a person found guilty of the offence must either replace the game or compensate the full value of the property to the owner or government in cases where the owner cannot be established.

In March 2017, Lianji W. purchased 6 rhinoceros horns through diplomatic personnel of a certain country. Lianji W. sold rhino horns to different people. On May 11, 2018, Lianji W. asked his brother, Jide W., to go to Mozambique to purchase 6 rhino horns and hand them over to Li for smuggling into the country. On May 25, 2018, Jide W.

In order to obtain illegal income, Weitai W. carried 15 tiger teeth, 4 tiger paws, 4 leopard teeth and 4 pieces of rhino horns on June 25, 2015, led by Yuejing P. illegally entering by boat from Vietnam's old street Zhongyuehe River to China's Hekou County "Yitiaoban" (place name), want to sell above products to others.

Feng Xiangxuan departed from Johannesburg Airport in South Africa and took flight CX748, then transferred to flight KA876 via Hong Kong. He arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on January 11, 2018. He chose to go through the non-declaration channel when entering, and did not declare any items to the customs.

At 12:30 on October 24, 2018, Jin L. drove the international shuttle from Laos through the Mohan Port of Mengla Customs. The inspectors seized a total of 476.16 grams of ivory products and a total of 40.51 grams of rhino horn from the sleeper interlayer. After further investigation, Jin L.
