On 6 of November 2005, Kenya Wildlife Service Rangers found 2 men, the current appellants, slaughtering a buffalo within the Ragati forest. Arresting them, they recovered a spear, 2 pangas, a snare and 2 bags. The appellants were charged with the aforesaid offences.

In March 2018, Mesmin Armel Okoko Ndzema the owner of a PMAK war weapon contacted Okengo Constant and one known as Diafranco for a big hunting expedition. All three travelled from Makoua to Ignoli village with three ammunition loaders and the PMAK. At Mambili check point they deviated knowing they had hunting material.

On March 15, 2016, Tong Mehounga Ernest received one named Mondoumbou Jugain for a big hunting expedition. Once in the forest they killed two elephants and removed the trophies. It’s in these conditions that Tong provided assistance in the killing of elephants.

Tonga Yvon Richard was staying at Pokola and in possession with four ivory tusks that he acquired from indigenous people and wanted to sell them. He therefore contacted Mongambo Annicet and sent him XAF 10,000 (ten thousand) to transport the tusks from Pokola to Ouesso and get a compensation.
