On December 23, 2003, MBANE Theodore went to the forest with a calibre 12 weapon to practice hunting. He came across an elephant that he shot dead using a specific cartridge for this type of target. He was caught in his camp by wildlife protection agents in possession of a the weapon and three ivory tusks.
In January 2015, while they were in the forest to go about their business, they found a rotting elephant on the way. After having removed the tusks, they took a vehicle to Pokola, on their way they were arrested at Ndoki II check point by ecoguards.
Ngouanda Brice told Malo-Malo Leonard that he could earn a lot of money if he agreed to kill elephants with Ngouanda Brice's war weapon, which the latter kept carefully. Malo-Malo then asked Ngouanda to give him the weapon, which he did and Malo-Malo used the weapon to kill an elephant.

In February 2004, MAMBALOU Venance, NDONGA Basile and MPANGO Paul left the village for a hunting trip at a time when hunting was not allowed in the entire national territory. During the hunt, MAMBALOU Venance unintentionally shot NDONGA Basile, who died as a result.
