On September 05, 2018, Mihindou Désiré is reported to have found a dead elephant during a hunting expedition. He then removed the tusks of the animal and went back to the village. While there he informed his son Beyeme Loudy Agilys and asked to find a buyer.
On October 13, 2017, Water and Forets administration officials were informed that individuals residing in the towns of Ndendé and Mouila were killing, possessing, transporting and trading in trophies of fully protected animal species and that a transaction of the so-called products was to be made in a hotel in Mouila on 16 October 2017.
On February 15, 2015, DISSOUKILA MAGOUMA was going to the forest to cut down his palm trees came across a panther that he killed with his gun. The following day he came back to the place to skin the animal and remove several trophies including the skin and teeth.

On the 8th april 2017, EVOUNA Guy Bertrand was found in possession of 08 ivory tusks and 22 pieces of ivory tusks.
In December 2019, EYIBAKA MEMBOUYA Vianney was found in possession of three ivory tusks when he was about to sell them which led to his arrest. During his interrogation, he recognized and declared that the products belonged to his brother-in-law MANGALA Norbert who brought them six months before from his workplace near the Ivindo national park.
In September 2020, agents of the Haut-Ogooué research antenna were informed that one individual was in possession of ivory trophies that he intended to sell. An investigation was then opened that led to the arrest of INOUSSA BALIMA who was found in possession of four ivory pieces weighing 6.53 kg in total.
