This was an appeal on the decision of the Chief Magistrate that found the appellant guilty of possession of four pieces of raw ivory and two hippo teeth without a permit or licence.

On 18 October 2015, during a routine operation, Mokabi Dzanga's surveillance and anti-poaching unit arrested Bamouke Bamokea Antoine in the middle of the forest, in possession of metal cables and a colobus body, which he tried to dismember.

The Accused was found and arrested in Ntungamo District and later transferred to Kampala CPS. The Accused was found to be in possession of specimen belonging to animals categorized as protected species contrary to the laws of the country. The Accused was charged and prosecuted at the Chief Magistrate Court of Kampala at Buganda Road.
