On March 15, 2016, Tong Mehounga Ernest received one named Mondoumbou Jugain for a big hunting expedition. Once in the forest they killed two elephants and removed the trophies. It’s in these conditions that Tong provided assistance in the killing of elephants.
Tonga Yvon Richard was staying at Pokola and in possession with four ivory tusks that he acquired from indigenous people and wanted to sell them. He therefore contacted Mongambo Annicet and sent him XAF 10,000 (ten thousand) to transport the tusks from Pokola to Ouesso and get a compensation.
On November 22, 2013, in the framework of their mission to control and search people circulation in forest areas, rangers of the Manbili check point caught Xu Gen Dang in possession of one piece of ivory tusk.
On April 27, 2015, police officers seized ivory products (total value of RMB 21,667) and 1 piece of rhino horn products (valued at RMB 9,500) in the store jointly operated by the defendants Bingjie L. and Qi F.). From 2007 to 2008, Bingjie L.purchased a hawksbill turtle and a turtle from the market in the Huimin District and kept them at home.
From August to October 2016, the defendant Jinwei W. was employed several times by Mingzhong Z.(separate case) to process the ivory into bracelet products, earning a processing fee of RMB 37,200. After the processing, Mingzhong Z. handed over the ivory bracelet to Zhiyong Z. and Guocai Z. (all handled separately) for sale.
By declaration to the clerk of the Ouesso High Court on February 14, 2019, Barrister Anicet Moussahou-Goma, lawyer of the Sangha Departemental Directorate of Water and Forests (SDDWF), filed an appeal against the court ruling giving on the same day by the Ouesso High court in the case Balonguitane Eber Patrick and Ngatse Roland vs the Sangha Dep
On April 05, 2016, Bith Gaston contacted Angoka Gueye Mamadou for a small hunting expedition after having received from Beh Menogam a war weapon type PMK he was hiding in the forest. Once in the forest, Bith Gaston removed the weapon and told Angoka that they will also carry big hunting. Angoka refused the offer and just put his traps.
In July 2013, Matoumou Emile, Ekondzo Albert, Idzala Gaël, Bhambo Bissodi Géni Bellard and Benodzey Kevin all living at Pokola went Bodingo only to do fishing. While there, Matoumou Emile surprisingly presented to them a war weapon and proposed them to carry out a big hunting expedition. They then killed one elephant.
On September 2, 2010, Kouam Derice and Kpapo Freddy were provided by Boum Simon and Bobo Rolvie with one war weapon type PMK and sixty ammunition in order to go to the forest for big hunting to kill elephants.
Dila Hugues was living in Ouesso. In October 2015, he left Ouesso to Tala Tala with his junoir sister. At Tala Tala he stayed at his friend Daouda Mayaki’s place. The following day Daouda Makayi left Tala Tala for Souanke and left Dila in his house.
