On the 9 April 2020, elements of the conservation service of the Divisional Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife of the Upper-Nyong Division received reliable information about ongoing pangolin scales trafficking in the town of Dimako. In 2020, Ebougou Itoua Claver was arrested by eco-guards in the Ikonda area, in possession of a skin and scales of a giant pangolin of which he claimed to have bought them from hunters.
