On the night of 7-8 January 2019, the accused persons NANA Namoudou, BANDOKA GBABISSONI Bernadin, LIGUINEBANDI Crepin and ABOKE Jean Christ were arrested flagrante delicto in the locality of Libongo by the mobile intervention battalion of the military.
The accused persons MIKA MIKA Richard, MIKA MIKA Blanchard, LUILE Bosco, WATALO Lambert and MELOUOL MGBEMA Dieudonne were arrested in Salapoumbe by forces of law and order and summoned before the Military Court, Bertoua to respond to charges against them.
The accused persons MEFIRE ISSOFA and BALOULO AMARE were arrested flagrante delicto in Yokadouma by elements of the East regional delegation of Forestry and Wildlife.
The accused persons WO LEMBO ABO Eric and MEFIRE ISSOFA were prosecuted before Court of First Instance, Yokadouma for complicity to killing and illegal detention of trophies of class A totally protected animal species. On the 08 February 2019, the court passed judgement. The accused WO LEMBO ABO Eric was found not guilty of complicity.
The accused persons MEFIRE ISSOFA, WO-LEMBO ABO Eric and MBOA Michel were arrested flagrante delicto in Yokadouma by eco-guards of the MANDOUNGUE control post. MBOA Michel was caught transporting two (02) elephant tusks of length 135cm and 139cm and weight 9.80kg and 19.74kg using a vehicle of mark Toyota Carina belonging to MEFIRE ISSOFA.
On the 24 June 2011, the accused persons SOH Berlin and ONANA Joseph were arrested flagrante delicto in Yokadouma by elements of the administration in charge of forestry and wildlife during a mobile anti-poaching patrol around the Lobeke national park.
On the 28 July 2016, a team of four (4) eco-guards and four (4) members of the community anti-poaching vigilante group, COVILAB organized a field mission based on information received from the hunting zone no.9 of MOLOUNDOU.
On the 23 September 2013, the accused ZETOUBA Ange was arrested flagrante delicto at UFA N°10015 by ecoguards of the Boumba Bek National park. During interrogations and prosecution, the the accused pleaded not guilty and rebutted the facts. That the ecogardes arrested him while he was sleeping in his hut.
On the 22 December 2009, the accused YAKOUBOU ALIOUM was summoned before the court to respond to charges of violating the regulations on the exploitation of special forestry products. The accused did not appear before the court during hearing.
On the 9 April 2020, elements of the conservation service of the Divisional Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife of the Upper-Nyong Division received reliable information about ongoing pangolin scales trafficking in the town of Dimako. A team was mobilized to arrest the suspects and dismantle the trafficking network.
