On the 21 October 2016, the co-offenders went to the Djoum central market to buy bush meat (protected animals’ carcasses Classes A & B species). Some of them were to stock their restaurant, others were to resell and others for personal consumption.
In November 2015, the accused ANGO SOUA Simplice entered a Gabonese forest with gun for large scale hunting (Calibre 12) and ammunitions for poaching. While in the forest, he was surprised by Gabones park rangers who opened fire on him, forcing him to run off after being shot around his abdomen.
On the 10 April 2010, elements of the conservation service of Dja carried out an anti-poaching patrol on the Dkoum-Mintom highway. During this patrol they arrested the accused Abang Joseph on a bike transporting the co-offender Assako Ruphine carrying three crocodiles in a bag.
In March 2016, the accused persons ASSO’O Martin & NGAMBI KONGO Gérard Régis received food provisions, one hunting gun and ammunitions to carry out elephant poaching from a certain Zo’o from Mebane Village. After spending over a week in the forest, they killed two elephants and took out the ivories, tails and other parts.
On the 12/08/2015, custom officials of Idenau seized a bag containing elephant tusks belonging in aboat called GIDEON belonging to a company called Lophombo PLC. One of the customs officials saw the boat with four loaded bags, approached the boat and asked one of the accused persons who was in charge of the goods had been declared.
On 17 October 2014, elements of the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife organized a sweep operation. Following this operation, the accused, Domwa Barthelemy was arrested flagrante delicto with four (4) elephant ivories. His co-offender IBRAHIM successfully escaped with these ivories as well as the firearms they used in killing the elephants.
On the 28 February 2009, the MINFOF agents while on a regular check at the Ellemp checkpoint, stopped ELLA ABANG Daniel who was on his bike with ELLA ELLA Donald but he devised a strategy as if he was about to stop but suddenly escaped the agents.
On the 8 April 2015, the Chief of the Forestry and Wildlife control post of Djoum received a reliable phone call that a certain man in possession of 20 elephant ivories is destined to traffic these ivories at a hotel Inn called “Auberge Jeannette”, room 104 in Djoum.
On the 31st August 2009, MANGA Clotaire was arrested in “Adjap” a village situated on the Djoum-Mintom road by the South Antenna of the Dja conservation service agents. He was was arrested in possession of five (5) Grey-cheeked Mangabey, two (2) smoked parts of Bay Duiker. They were placed on his bike.
In September 2015, MBARGA Robert set traps in the forest that caught one Leopard. He ate the flesh and removed the skin and the skull to sell. He was arrested by the police. Upon arrest, he didn’t have a National Identity Card. After interrogations, he and the seized items, were all transmitted to the State Attorney for prosecution
