At 16:20 on March 18, 2015, the defendant Jianquan L., carrying 119 animal teeth and 15 animal claws, departed from Santa Cruz, Bolivia, transited through Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Paris, France, and arrived at Terminal 2 of Beijing Capital International Airport. Jianquan L. chose to pass through without declaration.

On December 12, 2013, the appellant Liang Jintang entered Shenzhen through the Luohu port and did not declare anything to the customs. Customs officers seized a total of 25 pieces of crocodile skin weighing 4.50 kg in Jintang L.'s luggage. Jintang L. confessed to having illegally smuggled endangered wildlife products.
