On 6 of November 2005, Kenya Wildlife Service Rangers found 2 men, the current appellants, slaughtering a buffalo within the Ragati forest. Arresting them, they recovered a spear, 2 pangas, a snare and 2 bags. The appellants were charged with the aforesaid offences.

in 2019, ADORO CHUKWIDI, a Nigerien national, reportedly received two ivory tusks from his brother, who was finally returning to the country, each weighing 0.5 kg. Eager to get rid of it, he approached the Nigerian-born AGHAEZE CHUKWU to help him find a buyer.

In March 2011, Yolah Fred Benjamin killed one elephant with his caliber 12 rifle during a hunting expedition. He cut the trunk and removed the two ivory tusks. He then contacted Mouity Dissienga to look for a buyer. Dissienga took an appointed with a middleman who was to introduce them to a buyer at hotel Louis on the same day in the afternoon.

While he was an employee in a logging concession located at Mandji-Ndolou, Yeno Matamba discovered ivory tusks that he decided to keep. Following the advice of his uncle who offered to help him, Yeno went to Libreville to sell the products at XAF800,000.

On 20 November 2019, judicial police agents arrested Wopinase and his accomplices at Lalara. During his interrogation, Wopinase a Cameroonian individual declared that he was in relationship with Diallo and others and succeeded to collect three bags of ivory that he hid in the bush.

On April 11, 2018, elements of the Mitzic brigade were informed by an NGO that on ivory transaction would take place in a motel in Mitzic. With the information, the gendarmes set an entrapment to catch the suspects. That’s how they arrested SISSOKO BIRAMA, CISSE Mamadou in a hotel room in possession of four ivory tusks.
