The appellants in the court below were found to be in possession of game animal, alternatively government trophy, namely wildebeest skin, without being licenced or authorised to possess same.

On the 23 September 2009, elements of the conservation service of Dja arrested the accused flagrante delicto in illegal possession of 04 Colubus Guereza, 01 Bay duiker, 01 tortoise, 04 grey-cheeked Mangabey, 01 Moustached guenon, 01 Brushtailed pangolin, 02 Blue Duiker and blue duiker meat.

NGAMA Jean Claude entered the LOBEKE National Park and killed a pangolin and duikers, class B protected animal species. During interrogations, he acknowledged committing the offence as charged and pleaded guilty. At the close of interrogations, he was transmitted before the State Attorney for prosecution.

Elements of the Upper Nyong Divisional Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife under the supervision of the Chief of Wildlife, organized an anti-poaching patrol mission in the town of Doume. During this operation, the accused NJOYA NSANGOU was arrested with 27kg of pangolin scales.

In July 2016, Nji Fonbdah Gédéon went to the locality of Yangadou, Cabosse where he bought leopard skins and pangolin scales. On his return to Souanke, he associated himself with Gadjere Ibrahim who assisted in buying more leopard skins. That’s how both were arrested and brought before the state prosecutor.

In July 2017, Chuanjie H. contacted Lian (handled separately) to purchase pangolin scales in Africa and smuggled into the country. On the 20th of the same month, Lian informed Chuanjie H. that he had purchased 1,635 kg of pangolin scales.

In March and April 2016, Jianqiang X. learned that Runlin X. (handled separately) needed to find someone to drive a motorboat for smuggling to Hong Kong, and he actively sought people for him and gathered Shaowen F. (sentenced) to participate. At noon on April 10, Jianqiang X. arranged for the driver to pick up Runlin X. and Shaowen F.

After accepting the Hong Kong skipper's mandate, Runlin X. and Feng drove a motorboat from Minzhong, Zhongshan City to the Tung Chung Typhoon Shelter in Hong Kong to load goods and bring them to China on April 10, 2016.

The Accused were arrested at Kyebando, Kawempe Division in Kampala District and were taken to Kampala CPS. The Accused were found to be in possession of specimen belonging to animals categorized as protected species contrary to the laws of the country.

The Accused was arrested in Ssanga Town and taken to Ssanga Police station and later transferred to Kampala CPS. The Accused was found to be in possession of specimen belonging to animals categorized as protected species contrary to the laws of the country.
