In July 2012, the accused GBAMAN Benjamin confiscated four (04) elephant ivories seized by elements of the Divisional Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife, Yokadouma and kept in their premises. The accused denied the allegations claiming he was not in town and could not have possibly confiscated the ivories putting up a defense alibi.
In February 2017, the accused Djembo Paul acting on the account of Mogbwe Godefroy gave two (02) baby elephant ivories to the co-offender Djibril Karibou. The two had a misunderstanding and the former requested the services of his cohort the named Sameloe Dieudonné who dressed as an Ecoguard, proceeded to seize the ivory tusks.
On the 26 April 2016, military officials in Djoum arrested the accused persons in possession of 36 elephant ivories. The accused TAKAMTCHOANG confessed that a certain Armand gave him the ivories and he approached the ATANGANA, an Ecoguard to help him convey the ivories to Yaoundé using his vehicle.
On the 21 December 2015, elements of the conservation service of the Dja Biosphere reserve arrested the accused BELINGA Gabriel and EMINI KOUNOU Christian in the forest located in Elig-Edjo, a few kilometres from YEN along the Djoum-Oveng road. They had camped in the forest and were found in possession of elephant meat and tail.
Elements of the conservation service arrested the accused SALLA AMOUGOU Benoit for illegal killing of elephants, unauthorized detention and carrying a hunting gun and ammunitions without permit, illegal hunting, no certification of origin to detain elephant ivories and no presentation of a tax certificate to kill elephants.
On the 6 June 2016, elements of the conservation service arrested the accused persons aboard a boat in Campo. They were found in possession of 42 Ivory pieces and upon reconstitution by the elements gave 21 elephant ivories. They all pleaded guilty as charged and acknowledged criminal responsibility.
On the 17 June 2018, elements of the customs service in Lokomo arrested the accused DJOULI MBARGA Florine following a daily checkpoint routine in that zone. The elements stopped a public transportation bus leaving the zone in which the accused was aboard. She was found in possession of a bag containing 4 elephant ivories weighing 1kg each.
On the 30 May 2017, elements of the conservation service organized a sweep anti-poaching operation in the locality of T9 in Libongo. During this operation, the accused BOUKAR ALHADJI OUMAR was arrested flagrante delicto in possession of 12 Ivory tusks.
On the 29 November 2015, elements of the conservation service the accused persons BALAYE Jonas and BADOUA Florent in Libongo in possession of elephant meat. The accused BALAYE claimed a Baka, an indigenous person, invited him to a usual hunting activity. The said Baka gave him the elephant meat, which he shared with the co-offender BADOUA.
In October 2015, ENDELE NNANGA Léonce Fernand organized a hunting expedition in the AYINA forest composed of 9 individuals to whom he gave provisions, arm, and ammunitions for the killing of elephants for tusks extraction. This expedition team included trackers, porters, cooks, shooters.
