On the 11 July 2014, elements of the conservation service of the Campo’o Ma’an National Park arrested the accused in the said park in possession of a hunting gun, 10 Blue Duikers, 06 De Brazza’s Monkeys, and 02 Bay Duikers. He accepted criminal responsibility and pleaded guilty.
The accused NGALLA Mohamed was arrested for involuntary murder, complicity in the illegal killing of totally protected animal species, and illegal detention of an arm. He was prosecuted before the Court of First Instance Yokadouma and was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment term and to pay 200.000 XAF for fines.
On the 18 December 2013, elements of the conservation service of the Campo’o Ma’an National Park organized an anti-poaching patrol mission and arrested the accused with 01 hunting gun and ammunitions in the said park. He admitted criminal responsibility and confessed committing the offences as charged.
On the night of the 13 breaking 14 August 2013, elements of the conservation service of the Lobeke National Park received reliable information about an ongoing illegal poaching activity in that zone. Following this the team organized a field mission and arrested the accused SANGHA Jean Réne in possession of an arm and two (2) ivory tusks.
On the 20 June 2016, Bertoua military officials received reliable information about an ongoing illegal poaching activity in the zone of Libongo, sub division of Salapoumbe. The military officials mobilized a squadron of 175 gendarmes who left Bertoua to the said zone to arrest the traffickers.
In January 2018, military officials of the gendarmerie post of Socambo received reliable information on an ongoing illegal trafficking activity.
In July 2012, the accused GBAMAN Benjamin confiscated four (04) elephant ivories seized by elements of the Divisional Delegation of Forestry and Wildlife, Yokadouma and kept in their premises. The accused denied the allegations claiming he was not in town and could not have possibly confiscated the ivories putting up a defense alibi.
In February 2017, the accused Djembo Paul acting on the account of Mogbwe Godefroy gave two (02) baby elephant ivories to the co-offender Djibril Karibou. The two had a misunderstanding and the former requested the services of his cohort the named Sameloe Dieudonné who dressed as an Ecoguard, proceeded to seize the ivory tusks.
On 9 July 2015, elements of the conservation service organized a sweep operation in the Forestry Management Unit N°10007 in the forest of Bekasi. During this operation, the accused MBOUTOU Pierre was arrested with two (02) hunting guns and ammunitions in the said zone.
On the 26 April 2016, military officials in Djoum arrested the accused persons in possession of 36 elephant ivories. The accused TAKAMTCHOANG confessed that a certain Armand gave him the ivories and he approached the ATANGANA, an Ecoguard to help him convey the ivories to Yaoundé using his vehicle.
