On October 18, 2017, elements of the judicial police provincial antenna assisted by water and forests and conservation justice NGO agents set a entrapment following the reception of an information on a transaction on fully protected species, which led to the arrest of MOKAMBO Jean Felix, MBOUMBA Raymond, MOUSSOUNGUILA MOUCKETOU Maxime.

The appellant appealed against both conviction and sentence passed by the District Court of Karatu in economic case No. 4 of 2014. It was alleged during trial that on 30th January, 2013 at Rhotia village within Karatu District the accused was found in unlawful possession of one elephant tusk weighing 12.4 kg valued at Tshs.

The Anti-Poaching Unit received information from their informer that there is a business if elephants tusk about to happen in Arusha-Njiro area. Posing as buyers, the Unit contacted the seller about the possibility of buying the tusks. The sellers fell into a trap and showed the unit the tusks.

The appellant was appealing against the decision of the High Court which ruled that the offence which the respondents were charged with was not an economic crime to be tried before the High Court and thus ordered that the matter to be remitted back to the trial court for necessary amendments of the charge and proceed with trial accordingly.

The appellant was convicted by the District Court of Monduli at Monduli in absentia for unlawful possession of government trophy. He was sentenced to a term of imprisonment for twenty (20) years.

On May 16, 2019, water and forests agents were informed that a transaction on ivory tusks will take place in a hotel in Mouila and decided together with the police to move to the place. While there, they found Mrs Koghe in possession of two ivory tusks, arrested her and brought her to the police.

On November, 9, 2016, after a denunciation, Kielouhouin Pierre and Sidibe Brahima were arrested in the midst of a transaction by the agents in possession of six raw and fresh ivory tusks with total mass weight of 20 kg hidden in two bags of rice.

On October 15, 2018 at 9:00pm, MBINI KINIOUMBA Brice Aymar a Congolese individual was arrested by elements of the gendarmerie brigade inside a vehicle on the road Mouila-Lambarene in possession of boxes containing cartridges. During his interrogation he declared to have purchased the ammunition in Congo with prior authorization.

On October 18, 2017, water and forest administration officials of Ngounié were informed that a transaction of products of fully protected species was to be made in a motel in Mouila.
