On June 26, 2012 at Ebang Essandone, gendarmes of the Kye-Ossi brigade arrested BIYOGHE ONDO Boris Francis on board of a vehicle going to Kye-Ossi (Cameroon). After a search of the vehicle, they discovered two bags containing 17 ivory pieces and two ivory tusks in the back boot.

On June 23, 2015, MBENG EYI David Donald informed NDONG NSI Jean François of his desire to sell ivory tusks belonging to his later father in order to solve his financial problems. MBENG then gave the said products to NDONG. Arrested later on following a denunciation, NDONG declared to have received the tusks from MBENG.
